Technology Classrooms:
Instructional Technology Services provides faculty with access to high quality instructional technology equipment for teaching in our Technology Classrooms. These classrooms are permanently fitted with a teaching station full of secure, easily accessible instructional technology equipment intended to fulfill any instructional technology needs a professor may have.
Our Technology Classrooms, or TCs, feature a Windows computer with Internet access, a large-screen video projector, a VHS/VCR and DVD player, a Wolf Visualizer document camera, laptop ports, and an overhead projector. Many Technology Classrooms also include wired or wireless microphone capability, a slide carousel, a Mac or Linux computer, wireless video connectivity, and / or Digital Lecture Recording capability.
Projection Ready Classrooms (PR)
Projection Ready classrooms are technology classrooms optimized for instructors who wish to work from their own laptop. All Projection Ready classrooms are permanently equipped with a touch screen control panel, VHS/VCR and DVD player, laptop ports, and a large-screen video projector for display.Projection Ready with Computer (PRC)
These are the same as PR classrooms with the addition of a Dell computer and a wireless mouse. Our Classroom Attributes page details all of the equipment and services available in our Technology, Video, Projection Ready and standard classrooms.
The equipment in Technology Classrooms is secured to ensure its availability for all faculty to use. Teaching station cabinets are fitted with combination locks, and the combinations are changed every semester. You may obtain a combination for a room you are scheduled to teach in by using our online combination request system, or by bringing your Faculty ID card to 24 Capen Hall.
ITS supports the use of TC equipment for scheduled classes and special events. To help you better use the classroom, we offer Technology Classroom orientations prior to each academic semester; a schedule is available here. We have also made a video version of the orientation available online. Instructors may also download in .pdf format the Technology Classroom manual or the Projection Ready Classroom manual.
